The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development is launching its re-engineering of the workforce system which focuses on leveraging funds, eliminating duplication, and reducing customer confusion. This effort described in the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development Integrated State Plan will functionally align the job seeker services and employer services for a collaborative approach between Wagner Peyser and WIOA that will maximize resources and assist in providing more focused customer service.
As part of this functional alignment, Local Workforce Areas will be submitting a business plan to the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development that is created through a collaborative process and signed off on by both Local and State staff working in each of the areas. To assist Local Areas in developing their business plans, a Promising Practice Conference will be held from February 20, 2013, through noon on February 23, 2013 at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville.
Several staff from LWDA 11 will be attending this conference.
